About us

Sammondano promotes and facilitates adequate global democratization processes through information and communication technologies. We, therefore, promote and pursue the strategic development and use of user-controlled communication technologies, such as free software, that support such processes.

Based on its technical knowledge of participatory knowledge management applications, currently available under free software licenses, Sammondano provides online technology services, and other software-related services, that enable democratic organizations and individuals to self-organize and self-manage in transnational networks which are participatory, effective, inclusive and decentralized.

Together with a number of leading transnational organizations, software experts and renown academic researchers, we have developed the functional requirements of innovative extensions of such technologies. We are currently developing such communication infrastructure in collaboration with Partecs SRL.

The development has begun on May 2003 and our Samretano Toolset 2.0 platform will be launched for public trials on January 2004, during World Social Forum 2004 in Mumbai, India.

Meanwhile, you can test a working prototype of some core functionalities, as a preview of our upcoming Samretano Toolset 2.0. Such preview is in use by our partner organization, The Global Democracy Experiment, and can be tested by anyone at www.tgde.org. This experimental website enables anyone to join a global community of world citizens, self-organize and self-regulate, make suggestions and collectively make decisions.
